The talented other half has been very very busy....
●●●
As you may know from me blogging/bragging about it here.. he restores and re-sprays anglepoise lamps to sell on.....like these below
Well he's been restoring again!
This time for us
I thought I would share this one with you...
On Saturday mornings my talented other half and I are easily lured away from the temptation of a 'lie in'..by the call of our local Market and the 'finds' may that lay in wait for us....
●●●
A couple of months ago the 'Talented other half' found this for a 'tenner' (thats market speak you know)
I was less than impressed?
However, after a little research we discovered it was about a hundred years old.
It was made in Oslo, Norway.
The company that made it made lamps for the marine industry.
●●●
I was warming to it....
Well!
Just look what came home to live outside our front door .
I am in love.....
I am so impressed, it is beautiful...He really is so so clever and talented!
(he's gorgeous too...!)
(he's gorgeous too...!)
Do you know he even made an 'industrial style' fixture to hang it with...
And devised a way for it to be secured to deter theft!
AND made it into one of those security light things...you know with a sensor detector
So this beautiful lamp now has a new life and purpose with us,
its gorgeous when lit up too...
Now I am working on a new front door to go with it..I do so love that grey colour

I must say I actually liked it before the transformation but now it's positively divine. What a clever dick your man is, he must light up your life. Ha..Ha..Ha
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable lamp ... love that it has a history and you can wonder about the previous life it had every time you come through your door. I wanted to see it lit up! I've got the opposite ... a new front door, but an ugly cheap light over top of it ... one day ;) Wendy
